Initializing PVCS in SilkTest
When you start SilkTest, it will try to detect, load, and initialize PVCS. If this
fails, there will be no PVCS archive support. If PVCS support is activated,
the SilkTest menu bar is updated as follows:
·
Two new menu items are added under File: Check Out and Check In.
·
One new menu item is added under Options: PVCS Options. It is a
cascading menu with the choices Archive Setup, Label Versions, View
History Log, and View Differences.
The first time you access PVCS after starting SilkTest, PVCS security will be
invoked. If PVCS security has been set up so there is a PVCS access database
with password protection, you will be asked to log in. After you have
accessed PVCS through SilkTest for the first time, you will not be asked to
log in again. However, each time you try to check out or check in a file,
PVCS will verify that you have the appropriate privileges for accessing the
specific archive.
Setting up your archives
The first thing you will do is set up your archives. The major objective of
archive setup is to assign archive and reference directories for each working
directory.
Procedure To set up your archives:
1
In SilkTest, select Options/PVCS Options/Archive Setup.
The Archive Setup dialog is displayed.
