Options menu
Fault trap Fault options determine the actions taken by SilkTest when a
general protection fault is encountered. Active only when fault trapping is
enabled (the Fault Trap check box is selected), the Fault Trap pushbutton
opens the Fault Trap Options dialog, as shown below for a Forté application:
The first four options, Fault Actions, set SilkTest's behavior when a fault
occurs, as described in the following table:
The next five options, Fault Log Information, relate to logging fault
information, as described in the following table:

If checked, logs faults information to the
results file.

If checked, saves faults information in
the file faultrap.log in the
SilkTest
installation directory.

Capture Desktop
Bitmap
If checked, captures a bitmap of the
desktop when the fault occurs and saves
it in the file faultrap.bmp in the
SilkTest
installation directory.

Chain to Next
Handler
If checked, chains to the next fault
handler installed on the system, for
example, passes the fault to a debugger.
Otherwise,
SilkTest
logs the fault, raises
an exception, shuts down the offending
application, and continues. Not
applicable to 32-bit environments.
