Associate QA Engineer

Essential Functions

* Develops and executes the test strategy (plans, cases, etc.) for assigned areas. * Logs defects into issues database and tracks them through closure. * Configures workstations and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing. * Reports test results for assigned features and functionality. * May participate in the automation of tests. * Assists technical services staff in the resolution of customer escalations.

Expectations

* Demonstrates the ability to analyze a problem and complete detailed reports. * Able to methodically produce the steps which exhibit bugs in the product and is able to reproduce and communicate these steps. * Shows initiative in gaining in-depth experience in areas of technology relevant to testing of company products. * Highly team oriented; able to thrive in an agile development environment with few barriers to creativity. Passion for quality with testing. * Excels in an environment of continuous change. * Has strong communication skills, both in writing and orally.

Qualifications

* Education: Formal education in computer science or equivalent experience. * Experience: Entry-level * Knowledge of Microsoft Windows products.

Preferred

* Experience with Linux and/or UNIX is a plus. * Experience with networking and/or communications protocols, especially TCP/IP. * Experience with 1 or more programming languages.
