Application Configuration Testing Manager
Using overall knowledge and understanding of IT and business unit operations,
manages activities and promotes efficient systems operations for an IT division.
Provides developmental and training opportunities for team members; oversees
research activities and evaluates findings; Monitors on-going performance;
Communicates expectations and results on a regular basis.
Establishes department goals and action plans to support corporate objectives.
Monitors and reports on progress in completing projects and accomplishing goals;
communicates and interprets changes in guidelines, policies, procedures and
other related matters.
Prepares and submits reports and recommendations for management review. Prepares
and submits summaries and reports to external agencies and organizations as
required.
Prepares annual operating budget and monitors costs to ensure compliance with
budgetary guidelines.
Serves as a resource and provides information as requested to internal and
external sources on related operations. Coordinates with other internal
departments to resolve problems or issues.
Maintains awareness of new products and technologies in the market; evaluates
applicability to department or division business needs; makes recommendations
and proposals for Director review.
Manages employees in systems testing support and/or other functional divisions
within the configuration department. Is responsible for the overall direction,
coordination, and evaluation of these units.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's
policies and applicable laws.
Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training
employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;
rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving
problems.
Bachelor's degree and five years related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent human relations and verbal/written communication skills. Effective
negotiation skills.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups
of managers and customers.
Familiarity with overall business operations within functional area. Knowledge
of automated systems design and development processes.
Good analytical and problem solving skills.
Good computer skills to access data and information and to test systems changes.
Good project management and priority setting skills.
Preferred Skills: Knowledge of Trizetto Facets Configuration and testing
protocols. Experience in testing methodolgy and software. Ability to create
documented artifacts such as test cases, scripts, test logs, defect tracking.
May be accountable for several testing environments. Blue Shield of California
