Software Development Engineer in Test

Job Description

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is responsible for writing test specifications, designing test cases and designing/implementing test tools to uncover product defects for new and existing component releases. The SDET will work on back and frontend website technology and be involved in the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC). We use an Agile development/test process and Java test technology, focusing primarily on white box and automation testing rather than black box testing. The QA team structure mirrors the development groups they work with; QA Analysts, Engineers and SDET's are embedded with specific developer groups to increase team productivity and maximize test coverage.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to): # Perform software testing # Create and integrate test tools # Design and implement test automation tools and solutions # Design, develop and run both manual and automated tests; report defects and drive them to closure. # Identify product defects

Requirements: # 2+ years experience testing a data driven high-traffic website and/or enterprise application # 2+ years Java programming/automation experience # Experience writing test automation using Open Source libraries (i.e. TestNG, Selenium, HTMLUnit) including API level tests and code coverage analysis # Experience with acceptance test-driven development # Working knowledge of various test methodologies and techniques # Excellent communication and collaboration skills # Demonstrated passion for quality and willingness to work hand-in-hand with developers # Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience)
