Quality Engineer

Description This position serves as support function to manufacturing and implements quality assurance techniques including but not limited to: sampling plans, statistical analysis, measurement techniques, SPC, machine qualifications, process validations and capability studies. Provides support to new product development teams. Capable of using quality engineering methodologies, ISO procedures and systems, calibration system, corrective and preventive actions system and vendor quality. This position will also serve as the local expert for training on measurement equipment for programming, data collection and measurement techniques. Facilitates Kaizen events and other quality/productivity improvement processes with an emphasis on Lean Manufacturing.

Requirements Qualifications for this position include: Bachelors degree in Quality Engineering (or Biomedical, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Electrical Engineering degree with QA work experience) 1-3 years experience in medical device manufacturing in a lean manufacturing environment is desirable. Successful candidate will have demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite, Quality Tools and SixSigma methodologies. Must be able to work with statistical software; (Minitab or equivalent) measuring and test equipment without supervision. Due to the high level of customer and supplier contact involved, strong written and verbal communication and team building skills will be required. Certifications desirable for this position include: ASQ Quality Engineer certification, ISO 9002 or ISO 13485 Lead Auditor certification and SixSigma certification.
