Software Quality Assurance Technician

This position is critical to the success of our division and an opportunity for the individual to contribute to the growing field of high-definition media production.

The Software Quality Assurance Technician will serve as a key member of our engineering team by applying their testing, communication and organizational skills to the validation of our encryption technology.

He or she will be responsible for executing test plans, configuring test scenarios in a unique lab environment, and validating new features to ensure compatibility of Blu-Ray movies with a variety of software and hardware players.

Responsibilities

* Perform testing tasks for BD+, including documentation of results, bug fix verification using solid QA methodologies * Manage Windows software player installation and maintain Blu-Ray player firmware in test lab * Accurately document lab configuration * Clearly communicate results with developers and other QA team members

Required Skills & Experience

* Great interpersonal skills (i.e. friendly to work with) * Detail-oriented, organized, motivated, consistent, ability to multi-task * Available to work flexible hours in a dynamic environment * Technical Skills o Windows OS, application and driver installation & configuration o UNIX user-level experience (managing/editing files, running batch jobs) o Configuration management (test environment setup and documentation) o Basic computer security practices * Good understanding of the testing/development lifecycle * Prior experience in a software development environment performing testing duties * Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions required for successful test completion * Strong written and verbal communication skills for bug reporting and problem analysis
