Software QA Test Engineer

Job Description: The Software Quality Assurance Engineer develops and executes test plans and automated tests for new features, new hardware and functionality of products. Must be able to work closely with design engineers, marketing, and other test engineers. It is important for the candidate to be able to understand feature requirements and translate to test cases and test automation. This position requires the ability to quickly and effectively execute testing assignments.

Qualifications: BS w/ 3-7 years experience or MS w/ 2-5 years in Engineering CS, EE or related field and/or equivalent work experience

CCNA (or higher) certification is desired

Understanding L2/L3 switching, Ethernet, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, IPV4, IPV6

Working knowledge of basic QoS, VLANs, STP, RSTP Protocols

Understanding of OSPF, BGP, RIP routing protocols

Working knowledge of MPLS, VPLS

Tools development and automation experience: Tcl/Tk, scripting

Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills

Strong written skills specifically as related to writing test plans and test reports.
