Quality Assurance Engineer

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Understand and apply Quality Assurance and Software Testing concepts and practices to continually assess the condition and quality of software builds, bug fixes, and interim releases. 2. Review Requirements, Functional Design, Technical Design and Use Case design documents. 3. Create accurate and detailed Test Plans, Test Cases, and Test Strategies that clearly describe test environment, setup, risks, assumptions, strategy, and roles/responsibilities. 4. Perform functional (black box and white box), system and regression testing. 5. Clearly document and report defects, issues and enhancements using defect tracking tools. 6. Create regular project status reports. Communicate all risks and issues to the QA Manager in a timely manner. 7. Quickly learn and use in-house and external software testing tools for test case design and execution. 8. Be able to work effectively in a team setting - take direction, proactively seek out information and build productive working relationships. 9. Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus (e.g. Collections, Billing, Audit, and EDI)

Internal Responsibilities:

§ Adheres to all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to those identified within the Standards of Business Conduct and the Employee Handbook, as may be amended from time to time. Adheres to all applicable laws and regulations and the company's governance/compliance program.

§ Responsible for reporting violations of the company's policies and procedures, Standards of Business Conduct, governance program, laws and regulations through the company's Help Line or other mechanism that may be available at the time of the violation. Assists with internal control failure remediation efforts.

§ Becomes knowledgeable of internal control responsibilities through training and instruction. Responsible and accountable for internal control performance within their area of responsibility. Participates in the internal controls self-assessment process.

§ Ensures concerns with internal control design or performance and process changes that impact internal control execution are communicated to management.

Minimum Knowledge, Competencies & Qualifications:

1. Bachelors degree in associated field (MIS, Computer Science or Engineering) or relevant experience in the healthcare industry (e.g. Collections, Billing, Audit, EDI) with a technical background.

2. 3-5 years of software quality assurance experience.

3. Proficient in Microsoft Windows XP and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

4. Familiar with SQL and programming logic to enhance white box testing.

5. Demonstrates organizational, problem solving and analytical skills and is detail-oriented.

6. Able to communicate professionally, effectively and courteously, both orally and in writing with both business and technical associates.

7. Able to prioritize workload and work effectively with minimal supervision.
