Senior Software QA Engineer
* Be an Engineering primary point of contact for Customer Service for ALL Customer raised defects
* Formulate plausible theories and plan of action in order to drive problem resolution through to root cause. Provide a workaround if possible until root cause is determined
* Reproduce customer reported bugs in the Engineering lab in order to isolate issue for further analysis by development team
* Document defect related activities on an ongoing basis through bug reports, root cause (incident) reports, etc.
* Automation of tools for log mining, test setup and problem reproduction
* Attend bug review meetings with Backline Support and key engineering members
* Look for pro-active ways to improve the customer experience and reduce the problems reported to the rest of engineering
Experience and Skills:
* BSEE/CS or equivalent technical degree
* Configure and test of various storage (SCSI, RAID, FC and FCP) and storage networking protocols (iSCSI, FCIP and FCoE).
* Experience with building, configuring, tuning and troubleshooting large-scale enterprise systems
* Basic understanding of the SCSI architectural model
* Proficient with Unix/Linux OS as well as script writing
* Fibre Channel or iSCSI attached storage, host bus adapters (HBA) switches and analyzers
* Experience with Solaris, Windows, HP-UX and AIX
* System admin level knowledge of virtualization platforms like VMware and Xen
* Host server based multi-pathing and path fail over software
* Clustering, fail over and data replication concepts
* Familiar with enterprise DB solutions: Exchange, SQL Server, Oracle RAC, etc.
