QA Engineer

Seeking an experienced QA Engineer to perform installation, testing and diagnosis of robust 3-tiered custom developed software solutions in a UNIX / Oracle environment. Successful candidates will have strong testing, networking, database, and UNIX backgrounds, as well as excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills. Experience with protocol interfaces and OLTP systems is a plus.

Qualifications

QA/Testing: - 7+years of software testing experience in a Test/QA organization. - 4+ years of experience working in a UNIX environment. - Ability to devise test strategies, document test plans and test cases based off analysis of business requirements, technical requirements, and design documents. - Ability to determine test scope and provide accurate test estimates. - Must utilize test tools to perform manual and automated testing of APIs, UIs, and reports. - Strong problem solving skills and ability to troubleshoot application and environment issues a must. - Ability to identify, diagnose, and clearly articulate software defects. - Ability to work independently with minimum supervision to accomplish assigned tasks on schedule. - Must effectively communicate testing status to management. - Previous programming experience a plus. - 4+ years database experience, preferably Oracle. Ability to write SQL to verify test results a must. Ability to provide database maintenance a plus. - 2+ years work experience writing UNIX shell and / or Perl scripts.

Education: B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
