Sr QA Engineer

Responsibilities:

· Work with development and architecture team to design and develop a new Back Office test framework.

· Provide extensive documentation about the test framework and help train and mentoring other QA members.

· Provide recommendations and guidance on the selection and development of an automation infrastructure

· Work with development to integrate test framework with nightly build.

· Participate with senior QA and Development personnel in the definition of test strategies for our server side capabilities which includes feeds processing, accounting tools, meta data tools, and database updates.

· Design, plan and develop white box and black box tests in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

· Design and deliver data driven tests for simulation of real user activities.

· Use advanced SQL and PL/SQL to diagnose issues and verify data

· Participate in design and requirements reviews for proposed new features and updates

· Assist in scheduling and defining resource needs for testing for the entire project cycle

· Configure and maintain automated test environments for Unix and Windows NT products using an in-house java and XML based automation suite.

· Participate in testing of Back Office releases, consisting of feed tests, database schema changes, data migrations, and numerous daemons to support system and user activities.

Requirements:

* 5+ years of development or QA experience. * Well-versed in QA process and methodologies with an ability to adapt according to the needs of the business and projects * Demonstrable success in testing both large and small projects and helping to deliver them on time * Experience with testing 3 tier J2EE applications * Experience with both manual and automated testing strategies * Experience with partner integrated test environments, and working with external partners * Experience with feed operations and processes is a plus * Experience in testing Internet and web products on Unix, and Windows configurations * Experience working closely with development engineers and management in a fast-paced technical environment * Highly technical, detailed oriented with excellent problem solving skills. * Multi tasking is a must. * Experience with tools such Source Code Control Systems, Defect tracking systems, Project Planning tools, is required * Experience developing manual and automated test plans. * Experience build data sets and data generation tools to sufficiently test new and updated functionality * Experience working closely with development engineers in a fast paced technical environment. * Strong Database testing experience in Oracle is a must. * Strong knowledge of advanced SQL and PL/SQL * Experience with some Java development is highly desirable. * Experience working with XML. * Proficient in Unix and shell scripting. * Experience in developing in house automation tools is highly desirable. * Knowledge of various open source development tools. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * BS degree in related field
