SW Quality Engineer

Responsibilities: Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of methods to test and troubleshoot newly developed or redesigned products, systems, or equipment.

* Handle complex technical tasks

* Assignments include planning test and diagnostic programs, designing test fixtures and equipment, conducting tests, completing specifications and procedures for products, and documenting results of tests.

* Performs installations and runs quality assurance programs to test, identify, reproduce, and report defects.

* Develops acceleration and analytical methods and processes to enhance and ensure the reliability and quality of new and existing products.

* Creates test software infrastructure for automation, including development of QA tools.

* Work is assigned in general instructions given for routine work; more detailed instruction is provided for new projects.

* Requires definition of work projects and is provided with substantial direction in completing tasks.

* This position would work on the QA team responsible for the Avamar product line.

* Testing I18N language support

* Running stress, load, performance, and stability tests for Quality Assurance Engineering.

* Practices making good technical decisions and completes tasks & assignments under general direction

* Completes process documentation for testing standards, and maintains documentation of test results

* Works within Engineering practices to maintain, modify, and enhance existing quality methods & processes

* Implements software quality plans, evaluates quality standards, analyzes test results and may recommend corrective action.

* Recognize problems that need further investigation, seek assistance when needed, demonstrates self-initiative

* Works within established practices to maintain, modify and enhance existing software quality methods and processes, and participates in the development and testing of new software quality assurance methods

Skills:

* Perl, C, C++ or C Sharp

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Troubleshooting skills.

* Proficiency in imaging and setup of workstation hardware, software and/or operating systems environments.

* Knowledge of job associated database/software/documentation.

* Knowledge of job associated programming languages.

* Detail oriented.

* Appropriate debugging skills.

* Analytical ability.
