Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer

Responsibilities:

· Contribute to ongoing process improvements and make testing–related software recommendations.

· Create new feature test cases and modify existing test cases to meet changing functionality.

· Create test plans, consisting of compatibility matrix & overall testing guidelines.

· Implementation and execution of testing in accordance to test plan and test case structure.

· Execution of existing automation suites pertinent to project.

· Accurate and detailed reporting of test results.

· Accurate and detailed defect reporting.

· Work closely with developers, product management, customer service and other internal groups in order to successfully bring a release to market.

· Independently work with developers, product management in order to gather information required for new product features/enhancements.

· Provide guidance and mentoring on projects to more junior members of the team.

Skills:

· Ability to analyze defects through troubleshooting and debugging tools.

· Familiarity with customer-driven SDLC

· Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems; both at the user and internals level

· Experience testing in a virtual machine environment

· Effective written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail

· Working knowledge of SQL Server

Desired Technical Skills:

· Windows scripting experience preferred

· Programming experience: C#, Java, XML preferred

· Experience with Linux; Solaris, UNIX preferred

· Experience and/or knowledge of data security preferred

Work Experience:

· BS or MS in Computer Science or related field of education

· Minimum of 7 years of software product testing experience
