Sr. SQA Engineer- Systems
Job Description: Work in a group of software developers and testers developing next generation state of the art genome analysis systems
Job duties include but are not limited to:
• Responsible for development and execution of test cases and test plans for complex instrument and data analysis software with input to the definition of software and system requirements
• Interface with other functions to understand and translate customer requirements into working designs and applications, followed with rigorous functional and integration testing
• Communicate highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel both internally and externally
• Participate in code development and test
• Work comfortably in a strong team environment
Education and Experience:
• BS or MS degree or equivalent in CS or other physical or biological discipline
• 5+ years in software development and test
• Experience with software testing at multiple levels, including functional, component, regression, integration, white and black box testing. Experience with scripting languages is a big plus
• Experience in definition of requirements with use cases and corresponding test plan definition and execution
• Experience with NET/C#, MS Visual Studio, SourceSafe, XML
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, proven track record of success in rapid, complex instrument system development; Experience in commercial full life cycle software development is highly desirable.
• Experience with system development in life sciences or biomedical industry desirable
• Experience with complex instrumentation and genomic data analysis is highly desirable
• Experience with automated testing tools and techniques is desirable
• Previous experience in fast moving cross-functional teams; cross-site development experience desired
• Willing to acquire new skills, multitask and work on projects outside immediate area of expertise. Strong desire and ability to work as a team player
• Strong desire for self-starters able to prioritize tasks and effectively communicate results
