Software QA Engineer

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Understand the systems and produce test plans

· Develop a system test bed and perform tests on it

· Stabilize the developed system in order to provide reliable service

· Provide and meet time estimates for assigned deliverables

· Create specifications based on the test results and feedback from customers

· Develop automation of the testing

· Communicate clear goals, processes, & procedures to representatives with varied skill sets (software engineers and managers)

· Conduct research using varied sources to assist software engineers with development

· Participate in architectural reviews and analysis to ensure the efficacy of technical solutions

· Any additional duties as assigned by manager

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

· Knowledge of structured testing techniques and methodologies

· Knowledge of WAN, LAN and wireless LAN networking

· Knowledge of network monitoring tools and open source software

· Experience with scripting language for test automation

· Experience with MS Office and Adobe Products

· Experience with utilizing technology-based tools and processes

· Must be a self-starter, have good interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and effective communication skills, verbal and written

· Must be a team player and have a willingness to listen to others

· Ability to overcome challenging problems

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field

PREFERRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

· 2 years of software quality assurance experience

· Knowledge of ISP’s Hosting Services

· Hands-on experience with various IT products

· Routing algorithm knowledge helpful
