Senior Performance Testing Engineer
The Sr. Performance Testing Engineer is responsible for developing automated test cases using HP's QuickTest Professional and contributing towards the enhancement of an existing automation framework.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
# Develop and maintain performance testing framework and scripts via HP's LoadRunner tool for external and internal web-based applications.
# Perform detailed analysis of the company's infrastructure and major technologies.
# Execute performance tests using repeatable and systematic procedures.
# Execute detailed performance analyses and effectively communicate test results or performance issues to management/project teams.
# Recommend ways to improve application performance.
# Prioritize performance tasks based on business impact.
# Establish repeatable and systematic procedures for executing performance tests and enforcing the procedures.
# Organize meetings with other project team members to facilitate performance testing related questions and/or issues.
# Identify, propose and implement QA planning, quality metrics and process improvements to increase defect prevention, component-development efficiency and customer-perceived quality while lowering costs.
# Occasionally perform manual testing tasks.
Requirements:
# Minimum 3+ years experience in Quality Assurance specific to performance testing.
# Extensive scripting development and test execution knowledge using LoadRunner.
# Extensive knowledge of performance test results analysis and correlation.
# Working knowledge of Weblogic, Networking, Oracle & Apache functionality and dynamics is required.
# Previous performance testing experience in a web-based application is required.
# Ability to suggest items for both process and technical advancements.
# Capable of facilitating meetings for performance test results and problem identification across the organization.
# Ability to represent the QA team in project meetings.
# Experience and willingness to execute manual testing on an occasional basis is required.
# Working knowledge of a standard defect lifecycle and a bug tracking system required. (JIRA knowledge is a plus)
# Intermediate level of experience using Windows operating systems plus basic competency in the use of Macintosh computers.
# Working knowledge of HP's Test Director / Quality Center and QTP is a plus.
