Quality Engineer
Description:
This position is responsible for investigating, planning, and implementing improvements to current products and manufacturing processes that directly affect product quality, safety, and productivity.
Investigate and perform root cause analysis for product issues related to electronic circuit boards and electro-mechanical components.
Work closely with manufacturing/quality technicians, as well as Service, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and other departments to coordinate investigation activities.
Work with product development, manufacturing engineering, and other departments to develop, validate, and implement product design and process improvements.
Work closely with suppliers to investigate issues, implement corrective actions, and ensure the highest level of product quality.
Utilize risk assessment and other quality management techniques to determine appropriate and effective actions.
Communicate findings and actions to affiliates, distributors, and customers.
Conduct trending of product issues, and present findings and recommendations to management.
Qualifications:
The position requires a four-year degree in Electrical, Mechanical or other related Engineering discipline. MS in appropriate engineering discipline is preferred. Minimum 4-5 years experience in an engineering environment involving the design, specification, validation, fabrication, and assembly of product and manufacturing processes.
Good analytical and problem solving skills. Strong trouble-shooting and root cause analysis experience desired. Ability to lead project work. High level of English communication skills, including strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
Ability to create and work from engineering drawings and specifications. Knowledge and utilization of electronic / mechanical equipment and tools in laboratory testing, inspection systems, etc.
Sound knowledge of statistical techniques, engineering drafting, and personal computer applications (Windows-based software, Outlook, Word and Excel preferred). Knowledge of GMP/FDA/ISO regulations.
