Junior Software QA Engineer

As a member of a project team, contribute to the delivery of a high-quality product through the development and execution of product test plans and the technical review of user documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Performs technical testing on components of software projects * Designs and implements updates to existing test plans * Executes assigned test suites and reports results * Works closely with development engineers to identify and resolve all issues identified thru the test process. * Review all user level documentation for technical accuracy. * Install and maintain all necessary test hardware and software * Maintains a technical understanding of product suite * May take guidance from more senior QA Engineers * May be indirectly involved in customer calls on an as needed basis

Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum of BSEE or BSCS and 0-2 years relevant QA engineering experience

Technical Skills:

* Must possess base knowledge of all areas of software testing. * Must also possess the proven ability to understand technically complex issues and work with other team members in a collaborative fashion. * Requires working technical knowledge of Windows/Linux/Unix operating systems, Java client and/or server side programming, Java, C, C++ language skills, Test automation tools such as Loadrunner and Etester, as well as test methodologies.

* Ability to operate in a fast paced, dynamic and sometimes intense work environment. * Requires technical innovation and creativity, thoroughness, adaptability to shifting priorities/deadlines and multi-tasking. * Must demonstrate accountability, dependability, the ability to exercise solid judgment and decision-making. * As part of a project team, this individual will often work long hours under high pressure based upon product and customer needs. * Although this is an individual contributor role, this individual may take guidance and direction from more senior QA Engineers. * This individual is expected to operate independently and be self-motivated as well as self-directed on assigned tasks.
