Software Test Development Engineer.
As a Software Test Development Engineer you will contribute to the test planning, implementation of test automation, and test execution for multiple products that comprise the next generation high definition video communications solution.
Responsibilities:
* Design and implementation of automated software and hardware test suites for audio/video communication products in the areas of functional verification and system validation
* Develop functional test cases through product investigation, direct interaction with development, and business or customer requirements
* Develop use cases to validate customer usage scenarios
* Create test environments which simulate deployment conditions
* Execute manual and automated tests, analyze problems, provide detailed failure information, and work with development to facilitate defect resolution
* Lead test projects throughout software development life cycle
Qualifications:
* 5+ years of software testing experience including test automation design and implementation
* BSCS/CE/EE or equivalent work experience
* Programming experience in a high-level language such as C, C++ and/or experience with scripting languages such as Python or Perl
* Experience with home-grown, shareware, or commercial test development environments
* Proven ability developing test harnesses and tools from the ground up is a plus
* Self-directed and able to carry out responsibilities with a minimum of supervision
* Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills; experience in detecting, isolating, and characterizing product defects
* Prior history of testing a globally developed product
* Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
* Results-focused, team-oriented and a strong work ethic
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to contribute to the success of the team
Desired Experience:
* Familiarity with video and audio protocols
* Experience with embedded systems development and testing
* Understanding of networking concepts/protocols: TCP/IP, NAT, IP packet routing, ISDN; experience troubleshooting networks; familiarity with sniffers, protocol trace tools
* Familiarity with source control tools such as CVS or Subversion
