Automated QA Test Engineer Basic Qualifications:

· 4 - 6 years of combined Software QA and Software development experience

· 2+ years of Object Oriented software development

· 2+ years of QA testing of distributed systems

· 2+ years test automation experience, contributing to automation framework development

· BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Outstanding attention to detail

· Expert knowledge of web application design and testing

· Ability to troubleshoot complex software / hardware configuration problems

· Ability to accurately identify high priority software use cases and edge cases

· Ability to train fellow testers on use of automation framework

· Strong knowledge of GUI/Web Automation software (e.g. SilkTest, WinRunner, LoadRunner)

· Ability to develop a clear and concise testing strategy

Responsibilities include:

· Develop/maintain automation framework and automation scripts,

· Maintain, extend and enhance Automation harnesses and testing infrastructure

· Troubleshoot problems with application server, database, operating system setup

· Perform hands-on testing for complex features and reproduction of customer critical situations

· Design and develop automation utilities

· Document automation procedures and maintain these procedures over time

· Train testers on creating, contributing, troubleshooting and maintaining automated test suites
