SOFTWARE QUALITY ENGINEER

Description of Duties:

Ensure that software used in the development, manufacturing, & as part of medical devices is developed according to good design practices & follows the corresponding requirements set forth in our procedures, regulatory authorities, & notified bodies.

• Write & perform white & black box test plans, test cases, & test reports to support code development efforts.

• Assist product development teams. Develops & implements software quality plans, verification/validation protocols & reports & other documents & systems by creating quality specifications & quality plans.

• Perform software quality process & system audits, report results, & follow-up.

• Maintain quality system processes & procedures to ensure compliance to all domestic & international standards or requirements.

• Develop product risk assessment (ISO14971), requirements management & tracing, defect tracking, configuration management techniques, & apply them to the software development lifecycle.

• Responsible for analysis & decision making that has major impact on system & product compliance & the organizations ability to meet customer & regulatory requirements.

Requirements Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

• 1-3 years experience in medical, mechanical, or electrical production, test, or inspection is preferred.

• An engineering internship with a manufacturing company is preferred.

• High level of analytical & problem solving skills.

• Understand current Software Quality techniques, & software industry standards including their impact on internal procedures, software quality, & safety & efficacy of products.

• Able to write programs using C/C++ languages, & LabView/MatLab.

• Demonstrate strong technical writing skills.
