Quality Assurance Analyst
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor’s degree in education, computer science or related field or a proven record of success.
Minimum of 3 years school/service center experience.
Proficient in developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.
System-level understanding, in particular, the interaction and relationships between multiple subsystems.
Strong technical understanding of database design.
Working knowledge of automated testing software (e.g. Rational).
Reads and interprets technical materials.
Knowledge of AS/400.
Knowledge of COBOL, and/or Powerbuilder programming languages preferred.
Experience and understanding of object oriented programming preferred.
Familiarity with RSCCC systems and Texas Education rules and regulations.
Proficiency with standard functions within electronic applications such as MS Office (e.g., word processing, electronic spreadsheets) and e-mail.
Proficiency with computers (PCs and/or MACs) to include desktop management, file management and operations, and working in a network environment.
Exceptions to these requirements will be considered based on exemplary skills, training, and record of success.
PRODUCTS AND OUTCOMES
Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive test plans to ensure systems requirements are met.
Design, implement, and maintain complex testing environments, including localization and stress test environments.
Create and maintain test plans that ensure comprehensive testing according to systems specifications.
Pre-screen software problem reports to determine deviation from system specifications.
Utilize automated testing software (e.g. Rational).
Plan, develop, and execute system and regression level testing scenarios.
Measure system performance on multi-user platforms through automated test scenarios and provide improvement recommendations.
Ensure technical documentation and systems are in agreement.
Work with consultants and pre-release end-users to ensure releases are error free.
Monitor product quality and reject non-compliant software.
