QA Software Engineer

1. Develops and executes structured testing methodologies and testing environments for claims adjudication configurations including POS changes, new client implementations, benefits & pharmacy network change requests, eligibility records, and benefit, group, & carrier linking. 2. Develops and verifies detailed testing documentation including test plans & procedures, test scripts, test results, software installation & set up instructions. 3. Executes tests to determine the accuracy of adjudication configurations and approves data changes from the test environment to the live environment, adhering to unit procedural & quality standards and independent judgment. Ensures appropriate pre- and post-production review and sign-off by customers as appropriate. 4. Identifies, analyzes, and documents defects, questionable functions, discrepancies, inaccuracies, anomalies, and unexpected consequences. Makes recommendations and develops solutions to enhance the accuracy of POS system changes and configuration setups. 5. Partners with Information Technology Data Programmers and Analysts in development of advanced/complex POS system programming. Collaborates with Operations staff to ensure that client expectations are achieved through up-front clarification of specifications, design reviews, validation audits of existing configurations, and development of best practice coding guidelines. 6. Advises and recommends configuration models to Benefits and Pharmacy Network staff. 7. Utilizes planning, prioritizing, and organizational skills to ensure timely deliverables, high levels of quality, and efficient use of resources to achieve claims adjudication accuracy. 8. Maintains commitment to operational goals in the face of obstacles. Collaborates and cultivates positive relationships with internal and external customers through delivery of sustainable, measurable, accurate, reliable, and timely results that meet or exceed customer expectations. Promptly responds to service failures, resolves issues, and escalates concerns as appropriate. 9. Promotes continuous improvement by ensuring adherence to quality principles. Seeks out and actively participates in business initiatives that contribute to service excellence. 10. Actively participates in continued professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest technical enhancements and quality management best practices. 11. Based upon career path level, completes special projects and assignments (such as leading design reviews, verifying technical requirements, providing input and technical guidance for complex technical projects, mentoring/training staff, etc.) 12. Education Requirements Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of work experience & education. Special Skills & Certifications Proficiency with Microsoft Office Professional and NT PC environment. Basic competency in the following:

1. Proficient with most UNIX operating system commands/utilities. 2. Quality Assurance Testing Knowledge: Techniques used to test software applications, including test suites and scripts, anomaly reporting, software analysis, and automated software test packages; “black box” and “white box” testing techniques; and software development processes. 3. Database Knowledge: Database structures and SQL query language, including data table information and report analysis. 4. Managed Care Terminology: Pharmaceutical and medical information reported through product applications. 5. Internet Browser Knowledge: including URLs, cached files, downloading programs, and browser setting options. 6. Software Development Knowledge: including structured programming language (Visual Basi, C++, java, etc.) distributed architectures, and object oriented programming concepts. Required within 8 months of hire: MedAccess certification or equivalent experience; Service Excellence Certification; and Project Management 101 certification or equivalent training (for levels II and III).
