Test Engineer III (Reliability)

The successful candidate will lead the environmental qualification efforts and support functional testing for our consumer optics products. In this role you will be responsible for environmental qualification testing, determining requirements, developing procedures, conducting tests, analyzing results, and generating reports.

The preferred candidate will have experience developing and performing tests in support of high volume manufacturing. Working knowledge of optics and environmental test requirements such as MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-167 is desired.

Qualifications:

* BS in Engineering or related field; MS is a plus. * Four years testing experience in the field of environmental characterization of electronics or optics. * Experience in some or all of the following: EMI/EMC, shock, vibration, temperature, humidity, and reliability. * Hands-on laboratory experience with complex test equipment? including routine maintenance of instruments, as well as knowledge of industry test standards. * A solid understanding of statistical methods for analysis of test system performance. * Familiarity with standard environmental tests including thermal cycling, and drop testing. * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc). * Matlab or Mathematica programming skills are desirable.

Skills:

* Excellent time management, problem solving, data analysis, and organizational skills. * Good communication skills both verbal and written. * Self-motivated teamplayer. * Working knowledge of equipment control and automation software is a plus (e.g. Labview or Visual Basic). * Material Science background is a plus. * Knowledge of SMIA and Telcordia standards is a plus.
