Senior Test Enginee

Position Description

Join a skilled development team testing leading edge, web-based applications developed on the Java J2EE platform and PC-based applications developed on the Microsoft .NET platform. Participate in all aspects of testing, including reviewing requirements, writing test cases, creating test data, testing and identifying enhancements. Candidate must be energetic and driven to excel at new challenges, and always looking to advance test methodologies and practices.

Position Responsibilities

• Interface with stakeholders and developers on new feature requirements for therapy management software in order to understand their application to the product. • Develop test cases from the requirements. • Review and understand software requirements and specifications documentation for multiple products. • Perform product testing pursuant to each SW release during product development cycles. • Perform verification/validation tests prior to release. • Write SW problem/issue reports as needed. • Work with development engineers to resolve issues reported during testing. • Responsible for writing, updating, and maintaining software test requirements and specifications (aka test scripts) as needed. • Maintain configuration management/control of documents in our arena of responsibility. • Proficiently utilize essential software applications necessary for the job (defect tracking system, MS-Office applications, MS-Outlook email).

Basic Qualifications

• BSEE, BSCS or comparable industry experience. • Knowledge of formal QA and testing methodolgies • Expertise in networking, Internet architecture, and Client/Server technologies including: Oracle, Apache Webserver, Java, Solaris, multiple browsers. • Expertise in PC based operating systems, Microsoft .NET platforms. • Formal software development methodologies including the Rational Unified Process and specifically Rational UML. • Client-side and PC based testing issues, including UI, compatibility, and the interaction between web pages and the component technologies that make up Web applications. • Server-side testing issues, including the interaction across servers and their components, as well as between servers and clients. • Other testing practices, including performance, configuration and compatibility testing, database testing, Web security testing, load and stress testing, installation testing.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with testing under formal guidelines and/or standards is preferred. • Conversant in medical product development, design control process and quality system or regulatory environment (IS0 9001,ISO 13485,EN 46001) standards and the basic Medical Device Directives requirements).
