Senior QA Engineer

Software QA. Test plan creation and execution (reviewing results from automated tests, or running manual tests, then filing defects and/or generating results/reports etc.) associated with our Prevent™ and Extend™ Product Lines. In the next year, we expect a number of new products to come on-line, each posing their own QA challenges

Required Experience (Software QA and other Technical Skills)

· 10+ years of experience in testing software products:

- Domain experience must be in testing technically challenging software applications that were sold/distributed externally, either to individuals (retail) or enterprises.

- Demonstrated skills in test plan creation and execution

- Proven skills in providing a high-value test service back into the engineering team responsible for development of the products under test

- Must have expertise testing on Linux, UNIX, and Windows (cygwin) platforms

· Should be an expert in test techniques and test tools. A portion of the role is to be the “QA Architect” and

your depth of skills need to be able to meet the needs of this role

- The focus here is less on test automation and more on test plan creation and execution (reviewing automated tests, and running manual tests), since there will be another group responsible for test automation. Some automation will undoubtedly be required, but expertise in scripts development etc. is not a strong requirement in this role

· Must have some experience in software languages (at least to the level of simple source code), as well as

the subtleties of developing software products.

- Preferably was a senior/staff software engineer in the past

- Expertise in C++ would be most valuable -- experience in C, Java or C# would also be valuable.

· Experience testing compilers or other software tools (command line or GUI based) is a significant

advantage

· Experience in setting up and/or using SCRUM/Agile development processes within your organization, or

participating as part of other team’s SCRUM/Agile development processes, would be an advantage

· Must have at least a B.Sc. in computer science, or other science and engineering major
