Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Assist purchasing with supplier selection, development and risk • Administer, lead supplier quality / manufacturing audits • Root cause identification • Develop and implement improvements for short term and long term • Participate in development and launch of Supply Assurance program • Assist in creation and maintenance of manual database and transition to purchased software database • Compile and analyze data • Multi-task and interact effectively within cross-functional teams • Teach and coach supply base

Qualifications:

• Engineering Degree • 5-10 years experience • Experience in supply chain management • Ability to multi-task • Strong Project Management Skills • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and methods • Understanding of quality tools and metrics • Excellent problem solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication • Work independently and autonomously • Flexibility to work overtime, different shifts, travel on short notice • Frequent domestic and international travel • Knowledge of 1st article, APQP, PPAP • Commodity/manufacturing process experience with one or more of following: hydraulics, steel, castings, fabrication, electrical, powertrain • Quality systems: ISO, TS, QS • Proficiency with MS Office
