Quality Analyst
Analyzing corrective actions and developing root causes using 8D problem solving methodology. Tracking implementation of permanent actions and their impact on subsequent processes. Analyzing quality, production, test, and trial data, and provide feedback to management in summary format for decision making purposes. Developing detailed operator instructions, process flowcharts, inspection plans, and process controls. Collecting data for Gauge R&R studies and capability studies. Presenting data in various summary formats for management. Assisting in setting up and monitoring the ISO 9001 internal audit program, performing gap analyses, and the implementation process. Performing quality management system reviews, manufacturing process audits, and systems audits. Resolving quality issues relating to hardware and software, including tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem resolution. Developing trend analyses for tracking rejected parts and assisting in developing root cause corrective action. Assisting on improvement projects in various departments as part of a cross functional improvement team.
Bachelors degree with 2 to 5 years relevant experience. Ability to assess the inputs and outputs of a process / department, and identify how those interactions can be documented, streamlined, and enhanced with system improvements. Technical understanding of a product through the entire life cycle and its inter-department interactions, including development, validation, configuration, production, and support. Understanding of core problem solving tools and the ability to use them when analyzing trends, rejects, complaints, and other quality related issues. Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn capability studies, Gauge R&R studies, gauging variables vs. attribute data, and inspection plans. Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn how to develop detailed operator instructions, process flowcharts, inspection plans, and process controls. Experience in or ability to quickly learn problem solving techniques, root cause analysis, and developing preventive measures. Strong communication, interpersonal, and writing skills. The ability to issue data results in a concise, summarized format with recommendations to management. Background in or ability to quickly learn the use of control plans, control charting, capability graphs, and when to use inspections plans. Ability to utilize variation reduction tools (six sigma), waste reduction tools (lean manufacturing), and other continuous improvement methodology. Basic knowledge of quality management principles, software and hardware, and knowledge of implementing quality improvements. Basic knowledge or ability to quickly learn the use of software inspection, testing, verification, and validation. Basic understanding of configuration management, including planning, identification, configuration control, change management, and status reporting. Solid experience with MS Office programs, especially Word, Access, and Excel.
