Position: Associate Analyst, Software Testing

Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in computer science or another field applicable to software testing; or experience in software testing with Windows and Web applications; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills; familiarity with programming and networking concepts, Windows and Web system design and administration principles, relational databases, and software development processes; and the ability work independently and prioritize tasks under deadline pressures.

Essential Job Functions: Provide software testing services for assigned projects with emphasis on Windows and Web applications. Position requires evening and weekend hours during peak periods in addition to regular work hours. Typical work-related activities include:

* Participate in project meetings to learn application domain knowledge and gather information for software test planning. * Review specifications and other design documentation to identify defects before they migrate into code. * Assist in developing and implementing software testing procedures and standards for Windows and Web applications. * Collaborate on writing and reviewing software test plans; assist with setting up test environments and preparing data, tools, and hardware for testing projects. * Develop test procedures and test cases based on test plans, software design documentation, other available information, and past testing experience. * Review the results of test execution; compare output to expected results; document discrepancies in incident reports. * Provide testing project status information; create software testing results reports. * Mentor new software testing staff members in testing practices and standards. * Communicate orally and in writing with Information Technology staff. * Provide training in testing practices and standards to staff in other departments. * Stay current with new hardware and software technologies, software standards, compatibility issues, and software testing practices.
