Senior Test Engineer
The Senior Test Engineer is responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. Involved in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation and test execution. Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status. Collects and analyzes data for software process evaluation and improvements, and integrates them into business processes to address the business needs. Documents all problems and assists in their resolution. Delivers quality process training to technical staff and acts as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners. Performs quality audits across the various IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures, and methodologies are being followed.
RESPONSIBILIES:
Test new or modified software programs and software development procedures. Develop, maintain, and upgrade test scripts and architectures for application products. May act as project leader for small projects and direct and check the work of other test engineering staff. Perform complex test engineering activities throughout assigned software life cycle. Design, evaluate and implement test tools, plans, procedures and cases based upon requirements. Analyze test cases and provide regular progress reports and metrics. Document test results, analysis reports, logs and metrics. Recommend program improvements or corrections.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or similar, or equivalent experience. Minimum Five years experience in Test Engineering. Experience with Mercury Test Tools preferred. Test management experience in a full life cycle software development environment required. Software development experience in a mainframe and/or client server environment. Experience in a Biomedical Information Systems test environment required. 3+ years working experience with Siebel and database tables is required
