Test Automation Developer
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Analyze complex software frameworks and work with Field Test Specialist and System Implementation Specialists and Product Developers to create innovative solutions for automating software testing
* The Automation Developer has no supervisory responsibilities, but may provide direction to other team members in areas of expertise and project responsibility
*
The Test Automation Developer will be responsible for supporting and developing the various projects within the Global FTS - Automation team
*
He will work relatively autonomously with some support from the Test Automation Team Lead
*
He may have responsibility for one or more projects, or major components of a project, working to achieve the detailed goals and objectives of the team and the project.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in a computer-related discipline
* Results-oriented with at least 3 years experience developing leading edge software, preferably for commercial release.
* Minimum of 2 years developing in multiple flavours of Java: J2SE, J2ME, J2EE.
* OOD/OOP, XML, Java IO, UI and network programming experience
* Database and Web development and administration skills, including PHP, SQL, JavaScript, ODBC/JDBC, JSP.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Experience with Perforce or other revision control systems
* Ability to take responsibility for a major unit of work, such as a component of a larger project, working to support the well-defined goals and objectives of the component and the larger team, but working with minimal day-to-day supervision.
* Strong software development skills in a commercial product development environment
* Initiative and innovation skills with passion for process improvement
* Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience with planning and scheduling software development.
* Excellent analytical and problem determination skills with the ability to see solutions through to completion
ADDITIONAL ASSETS
* Experience with DevTrack issue tracking software
* Experience with Document control systems such as Livelink.
* High degree of knowledge of GSM, GPRS and UMTS, TCP/IP, networking infrastructure
