QA engineer
Responsibilities:
* Lead team of QA engineers to balance short-term and long-term priorities from test planning, to execution, to reporting, to product release-to-market
* Collaborate seamlessly with remote teams for test execution, reporting via conference calls
* Manage activities to meet their delivery dates and report accurate, complete status
* Work closely with development on reproducing bugs/escalations and perform root cause analysis for quicker resolution
* Work across different departments such as Support, Product management during product releases to fulfill all the QA responsibilities involved during the product release
* Manage, maintain and Setup new test environments include servers, managed network/FC switches etc, to execute functional/system level test cases manually or via automation
* Study customer escalations and develop new customer test scenarios
* Work across other Core-QA teams for understanding test strategies around new upcoming products. At the same time be able to perform effective knowledge transfer across remote teams
Requirements:
* BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required (MS preferred)
* 3+ years of protocol level and system level test experience in TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, UDP, SMTP, NFS, VLAN, NIC Teaming, network device drivers, switches, routers //OR// 3+ years of protocol level and system level test experience in FC SAN, IP SAN(NFS/iSCSI), SCSI, RAID storage devices
* 5+ years in Quality Assurance writing test plans and testing Cisco network switches or testing network device drivers or testing system-level network stack for enterprise-class software product //OR// 5+ years in Quality Assurance writing test plans and testing IBM/HP/EMC storage devices or testing storage device drivers or testing system-level storage stack for enterprise-class software product
* 2+ years of Linux/Unix and Windows system administration experience, networking protocols and modern file systems knowledge is required.
* Good exposure to networking tools such as netperf, netbench, iperf, tcpdump, ethereal etc
* Must be able to setup network testbeds and be able to troubleshoot and debug network issues
* Must be able to configure/manage network devices such as Cisco Switches and routers
* Candidate should have strong analytical and communication skills, and is a strong self-starter with attention to detail
* Candidate should be confident about his abilities and a strong performer in driving projects to completion
* Must be able to prioritize, handle multiple outstanding tasks and be a good team player
* Working experience in Java, Perl or Python for test case automation/execution
