Software QA Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Developing and running functional and regression tests in UNIX and Windows environments
* Raising and progressing defects via Mercury Interactive's Test Director
* Liaison with Development groups (hardware and software)
* Writing or modifying test scripts or programs
Qualifications:
Skills
* Experience in the enterprise server/storage industry will be an advantage
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* A good technical skills balance with a strong quality ethic
* Experience in a number of the following areas:
o UNIX and Windows environments including Systems Administration
o Embedded software systems
o TCP/IP networks
o SMB/CIFS
o NFS
o Gigabit Ethernet (including protocol analysis)
o Fibre Channel
o RAID and disk sub-systems
o Clustering / high availability systems
o NAS/SAN
o The ability to write programs/scripts for testing purposes
Knowledge & Experience Required
* Good degree or equivalent experience in an engineering or computing discipline
* At least two years practical experience of the whole test cycle including test plan and test script development.
