Sr. Software Quality Assurance Testing Engineer

Skills and Experience:

Education: College BS or BA degree required. Preferably in any of the following areas: Computer Science, Life Science Information Management, Information Technology, Biology Informatics or related degree.

Experience: Minimum 6 years experience in SQA, Database, Software or Web Development or related experience. Solid experience with maintaining schedules, dealing with resource constraints, bug isolation, reporting, providing guidance, and with identifying and recommending changes to established practices. Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and a strong technical leader/mentor, who persistently follow-through on projects. Facilitates the balance between an appropriate level of engineering process rigor and the imperative of time-to-market.

Skills: Knowledge of iterative or agile methods of software development and design. Must demonstrate leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and manage change across engineering and operations functions of the organization. Expert in best practice, processes, infrastructure, tools and metrics. Duties and Responsibilities:

The Sr. Software Quality Assurance Test Engineer must have uncompromising commitment to quality. This position works with a cross-functional team of individuals, providing quality assurance, quality control, and test automation for client-server and web-based applications, as well as data warehousing solutions and data interfaces. Success in this position is defined by the level of reduced software defects generated during the software development lifecycle through consultative and direct involvement with the Software Development Group. This role will also contribute to the strategy and vision of software quality practices. Must demonstrate leadership capabilities with the ability to influence and manage change across engineering and operations functions of the organization.
