Software Test Engr III

Overview: Creates, evaluates, recommends, and executes effective test plans and strategies. Develops, maintains, and upgrades test procedures. Also writes, implements, and reports status for system test cases for testing. Analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports. Works with other software test engineers on larger projects and may assume the role of test team lead. Partake in the review of requirements and designs. Peer review other software test engineers work. This is a high level position.

Responsibilities: • Complete assigned tasks on-time and in accordance with the appropriate process. • Participate in technical reviews to ensure product quality. • Document test execution. • File issues/bugs with accurate details. • Regular status reports of testing activities. • Good teamwork skills as part of a multi-discipline project team. • Estimate time and effort on projects and tasks. • Mentor other software test engineers. • Lead a small team of test engineers assigned to tasks. • Lead technical reviews of project deliverables. • Demonstrate ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks. • Continue to advance skills professionally and technically. • Successful completion of other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications: • Position requires a Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent. • A minimum of 5 years of software testing experience. Experience in Medical devices is a plus. • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills required. • Must be able to use PC and software testing tools. • Experience and strong knowledge of Microsoft OS and software practices written for those platforms are required. • Experience in the installation and configuration of Operating Systems and other software. • Ability to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision. • Good written and oral communication skills. • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for software & system testing. • Ability to understand configuration and set-up of equipment for testing and development. • Good documentation skills and discipline. • Able to draw on past experience and judgment to make effective decisions. • The ability to code C++/C# is highly desired but not required.
