Software QA Engineer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Develop test cases as necessary per test process * Create test plans that are applicable to each release by working closely with product development teams to ensure quality and usability of our products * Execute test cases/scripts as identified per test process * Analyze defects found to provide as much support or information as necessary to software development teams * Analyze test results (also comparing one build to another) to create periodic test reports per test process * If identified as test coordinator for a product, lead overall test planning and execution for that product * Define new or improved test processes * Analyze test results and users' feedback, and communicate with product development teams to assist in problem resolution. * Train and mentor new team members

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

* Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or 2+ years of sufficient relevant experience * Excellent academics (composite GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) * Superior organizational and analytical skills * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Relevant experience or training in software quality assurance processes and methodologies * Relevant experience or training in creating test plans, conducting usabilities test, and/or writing test scripts is preferred * Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks * Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and to exercise sound independent judgment
