Software QA Engineer

Primary Responsibilities include: -Participate in research and development efforts with a focus on building testability into the software architecture, from the early points in the project. -Deliver enhancements and bug fixes for our in-house software test tools. -Anticipate the upcoming needs for test tools, test harnesses, and automated tests by gathering and prioritizing requirements so that the test opportunities with the highest value get the primary focus. -Provide guidance for other developers of test tools within EQS and serve as a primary contributor to the coding effort on one or more of our test automation tools projects. -Contribute as needed to the software development effort on R&D projects.

Marginal Responsibilities include: -Evaluate existing manual test cases to identify where test tools or automation would increase our capacity and improve our results. -Work with product developers to evaluate test results and help identify root cause for the problems found. -Coordinate the approaches to developing test applications within our division ( Business Solutions Group ) -Study industry trends to bring advanced test automation tools and techniques into our processes

Required Knowledge and Skills: -Five or more years of software development experience, developing and testing software and/or firmware. ( firmware for MFPs or related digital imaging or office products is preferred ) -Expert level skills in at least one development environment; Windows/C#.Net, Linux or Android/Mobile ( C#, C++, Java ) -Experience leading teams that create test automation for the first release of a product -Experience with software configuration management systems and nightly build automation -Experience with bug databases and test case management tools, including system administration -The interpersonal skills required to collaborate on the “early quality” activities that increase quality during the initial phases of software research and development
