QA Engineer - Applications(

RESPONSIBILITIES: • Interfacing and cooperating with internal and external technical staff to integrate systems. • Creating and maintaining test environments with live connections to internal and external test and production systems. • Creation of integration and performance test documentation incorporating high level analysis, specific use cases, and failure thresholds. • Perform proof of concept planning and documentation of new or modified products. Assist in the development of proof of concept test plans and document the desired results. • Perform functional, acceptance, integration, performance, destructive, and recovery tests. • Work closely with Application engineering and operations teams to test issue resolutions that arise. • Document methods and procedures, work instructions, provisioning guidelines, and engineering test specifications. • Interface at the appropriate technical level to assist with the definition, design, test, and support of applications. • Supporting VoIP QSAEs in functional, acceptance, integration, performance, destructive, and recovery tests for voice services.

QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Communications, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications with a minimum of 5 years testing experience. • Excellent knowledge of testing methodologies. • Strong SQL knowledge with preferences in MySQL and Oracle. • Familiarity with routing protocols including OSPF, IGP, RIP, IGRP, EIGRP. • IP Networking: DHCP, DNS, IP address management, SSH, TELNET, FTP, etc. • Knowledge in network switching and signaling fundamentals a plus (SIP, MGCP, H.248, SS7, and traditional TDM signaling protocols (i.e. GR303)). • Passionate and motivated self-starter who excels in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring only limited supervision. • Ability to work with various people under extremely stressful conditions. • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task, work efficiently involving multiple cross functional groups from Sales and Account Management to Operations and Engineering. • Ability to negotiate and prioritize conflicting incoming requests while considering timelines and limited resources. • Strong, professional customer relation skills. • Ability to communicate with brevity and clarity both orally, and through written communication, to management and co-workers.
