QA Tester

College degree preferred.

Previous 5 years in a role involving system testing, including web and windows GUI applications Extensive experience extracting test cases from business and system requirements and executing on those test cases, including UAT, full cycle regression and negative testing. Extensive experience developing test plans Experience with the testing lifecycle and its place within the overall software development lifecycle Prior experience with QA/QC standards and best practices In-depth knowledge of relational databases required; Experience with IBM DB2 and strong SQL skills required. General ability to verify results from databases and log files Experience with testing automation tools (both Web and Windows GUI) Working knowledge of MS Excel and website navigation / usability required; Excellent problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills required Experience working effectively across multiple functional groups, especially between non-technical business representatives and technical systems developers. Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects at once Ability to work independently without constant supervisio Works well within teams. Strong sense of ownership, good follow through and status reporting skills Flexibility – experience working in changing environment Must have a good sense of humor and a positive attitude Capable of generating and articulating recommendations for continuous improvement Ability to communicate complex technical terms to business users. Insurance industry experience a plus
