* Maintains and supports existing Invader products database applications. * Testing and validation of database upgrades and enhancements. * Designs and implements new database applications and analysis protocols to meet needs of specific research and development projects. * Works with scientists and other software developers to produce high quality software used in conjunction with our diagnostic products. * Maintains clear and complete records to comply with all elements of the Quality System relevant to the position. * Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Occasional Duties and Responsibilities

* Provides backup for departmental coworkers. * Supports proprietary and third party software tools.

* Working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and related documentation requirements. * Working knowledge of software quality and change processes. * Ability to work as a team member with diverse professionals in a product development environment. * Strong familiarity with MS Windows is a must *

Ability to use computers daily in an interactive manner for extended periods of time and up to 8 hours per day. *

Ability to sit for an extended period of time *

Ability to stand for extended periods of time and up to 3 hours at a time.

Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis *

Ability to travel (by land and air), both domestically and internationally *

Ability to frequently and accurately communicate with employees, customers, etc. face-to-face, via the telephone or by email *

Ability to learn and understand scientific concepts and keep current on the scientific literature and technologies.



· Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatices, Computer Science, or equivalent.

* Experience with software validation strongly desired. * Experience with software implementation or database support desired. * Programming experience with PL/SQL would be a plus. * Background with databases, data modeling tools, PL/SQL (Oracle), SQL, PERL, and implementation experience and programming desired. * Solid knowledge of the fundamental principles of software development practices. * Scripting, systems administration and testing experience as required by the varying work scope supporting research efforts. *
