Software Quality Assurance Manager
# The QA Manager will provide leadership and management on activities related to automation and quality management tools.
# This entails researching technologies and best practices to improve management and execution of QA activities.
# Oversees the planning and implementation of Quality Management tools.
# Works proactively and collaboratively with the QA team along with other IT teams to improve application quality.
# Manages and mentors the associates on the team, ensuring that each is receiving the proper training and guidance to be able to move to the next level.
# Proficient in various QA/testing methodologies including test case/scenario development, script development execution and defect tracking.
# Oversees resource and project planning for all automation testing.
# Actively contributes to estimation and planning, risk assessment, contingency planning, tracking and
management of progress, issues, risk and resources.
# Provides effective and timely communication to the Project Manager.
# Prioritizes testing tasks based on goals and risks of projects and ensure testing milestones, activities and tasks are completed as scheduled.
# Manages/leads Quality Assurance Team on assigned projects which include the creation and execution of test plans and cases. Ensures that QA testing and Sarbanes Oxley standards are followed.
# Monitors, evaluates and determines best course of action on defects. Creates and maintains defect tracking procedures.
# Assists in the hiring process to staff new QA Analysts. Conducts performance reviews.
# Documents and reports the status on all projects assigned.
# Works with Application Development Team on scheduling/planning upcoming releases to the QA department.
# Directs the activities of assigned staff members by providing technical guidance, assistance and training. Works with QA Management to help implement new testing strategies and tools.
# In collaboration with QA Management, estimates time and cost requirements, prepares schedules for testing and determines level of staffing required to support QA activities and initiatives.
# Work on special projects as assigned.
# 7-10 years of prior Quality Assurance experience and 5+ years of staff management experience. Proven ability to manage and develop team of Quality Assurance Analysts.
# Prior experience conducting performance reviews.
# Proven leadership capabilities to plan, manage and track QA activities throughout the SDLC. Proficiency in MS Project.
# Solid understanding of Quality Assurance testing processes/methodologies.
# Proficiency in creating test strategy, project plans and estimates.
