Test (CAT) Engineer
* Perform in-depth technical analysis and review of information systems compliance with US government security requirements.
* Perform in-depth technical analysis and review of systems built upon Linux, Solaris, Windows and other operating systems.
* Perform full scope security assessments of information systems using commonly available tools, such as those found on the Backtrack Linux Live CD.
* Provide systems security engineering “advice and assistance” to program throughout the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
* Coordinating activities with other ODNI CIO components/teams
* Briefing senior government officials regarding the results of formal requirements validation testing
* Reporting on status and completion of assigned actions
* Performing other related duties as assigned
* Active TS/SCI w/CI Poly
* Bachelor’s Degree in a technical/engineering field or significant experience and training in lieu of a degree.
* Experience within the IC as a technical engineer
* Background and experience working with DCIC 6/3 (profile knowledge of NIST 800-53 and CNSSI 1253 recommended)
* Experience working with Unix/Linux operating systems
* Demonstrated willingness to think “outside the box” in relation to technology
* Knowledgeable in a wide variety of technologies, such as:
o Cross-Domain or Multi-Level Security Solutions
o Trusted Solaris and/or Trusted Extensions
o Linux and SELinux
o Windows, Cisco, Web Technology, Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, Encryption, Network Security, PKI, Network and Systems Engineering, Oracle
o Experience performing technical evaluations of technical systems, to include comprehensive vulnerability assessments and/or penetration testing
o Ability to read, evaluate or program in at least one scripting or application programming language
* Experience performing web application development or web application assessments
* Exposure to and/or experience with Service Oriented Architectures & Cloud Computing.
* Willingness to travel locally, within the Washington DC Metropolitan area, as well as throughout CONUS
* Possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write at the executive level
* Experience in or knowledge of Blue and Red Team Operations
* Experience with manual and automated exploit techniques and tools
* Experience with reverse engineering and disassemblers
* Ability to work comfortably in a multi-vendor, high-energy environment
* Current Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or similar certification
* One or more of the following technical certifications is highly desired:
o SANS GCIH, GCFW, GCIA, GCUX, GSOC, GCWN
o RHCT, RHCE (Red Hat)
o SCSA, SCNA, SCSEA (Solaris)
o MCSE Security
o CCNA, CCNP, CCSP
