Software QA Engineer

Translate business requirements and User Stories into robust test case Test new product features and retest fixed product defects as assigned by management or lead Test product features and accompanying user documentation within the allotted time frame Become knowledgeable of product functionality through product exploration, self-study of user manuals, on-line documentation, help files and from working with subject matter experts Learn product functionality, tools and programming languages in order to execute on their given tasks appropriately Develop an understanding of SQL and third-party testing tools through existing examples, self-study, and user manuals Become familiar with the organization of the company, as well as the product life cycle The analyst is expected to maintain and enhance existing automation code and tests

Execute functional, regression, acceptance, integration testing Report progress to project lead/manager and track testing time

Develop proficiency in the use of defect tracking software, time tracking software test case management systems, spreadsheets, word processors and databases through existing examples, self-study, mentor trainings and user manuals

Experience with all functions of quality assurance in the SDLC Working knowledge of Windows operating systems Strong logical & problem solving skills Self-starter with exhibited ability to learn new skills quickly, retain information and highly motivated to grow in the QA profession Hands-on knowledge of SQL, ability to write complex queries, experience working with large scale RDBMS (preferably Microsoft SQL Server)
