QA Test Engineer (Web Applications)

- Perform feature, regression, and usability testing of storage management solutions

- Create test cases, hold reviews with developers, and capture test results/evidence

- Identify high priority use cases / edge cases

- Troubleshoot issues by reviewing logs, code, and other system data

- Isolate defects and perform root cause analysis

- Document defects and ensure verification of resolutions

- Estimate effort, develop integration and system test plans, prepare test environment, test scenarios, data and test scripts

- Drive test improvements and monitor key metrics associated with test execution and quality

- Recommend improvements to the storage management solution based on test results

- Automate test cases

- Improve test quality through orthogonal defect classification and root cause analysis

- Identify new tools and methodologies to improve testing activity

- Train and mentor other team members

- Actively participate in daily Scrums and project planning meetings

- End-to-end management of assigned projects

- Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering or comparable experience

- 3 years experience testing web applications

- Experience testing with web browsers, such as IE, Firefox, and Chrome

- Experience with databases, such as MySQL, including running queries

- Knowledge of web/application servers, such as Apache, Tomcat, and Jetty

- Knowledge of web technologies, such as Javascript, AJAX, JSP, HTML, and XML

- Hands-on troubleshooting experience

- Experience with defect tracking and test management systems, such as Rally

- Object-oriented programming knowledge (Python, Java, or equivalent)

- Experience with Linux or other POSIX OS.
