Entry Level QA Engineer
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Create new automation scripts
Maintain and improve existing automation suites
Report on results of automated test runs
Assist in test planning and estimation
Reproduce and clearly document all issues found during verification and validation
Create and review software test plans and validation procedures
Maintain and review defect backlog and drive prioritization efforts
Conduct root-cause analysis for critical defects released to customer or as needed to improve processes
Test deployments to beta and production
Participate in the Triage process, reproduce field issues and provide feedback to Support Specialists
Assist in training personnel in other departments when updates and new products enter beta
Review product documentation for consistency with delivered application features
Analyze system errors and suggest corrective measures
Investigate and respond to customer complaints regarding quality
Conduct research and analysis tasks on procedures to evaluate quality standards
Propose enhancements to the software development lifecycle as appropriate
Identify risks and issues proactively and drive creative solutions
Advocate for Software Quality Assurance best practices
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent direct work experience
EXPERIENCE: 0-2 years’ software quality assurance experience; experience working with automated tests such as Selenium or QTP; familiar with mobile and web-based software testing; familiar with Reporting and Analytics or Business Intelligence Concepts
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
· Working knowledge of Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server (TFS), JIRA, or other agile task and bug tracking solution
· Knowledge of testing methodology
· Understanding of technical terminology and best practices in software QA
· Good interpersonal and team building skills
· Strong research, troubleshooting and documentation skills
