Senior Quality Engineer
Be passionate about providing quality support for products that are the highest quality in their class
Excel at collaborating on cross functional teams to influence and deliver positive business outcomes
Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assuring product quality across the supply chain by evaluating non-conforming material,
identifying and resolving quality issues, and driving process/product changes
Partnering cross-functionally, internally and externally, to understand fitness-for-use requirements and driving the specification development of new and derivative products
Evaluating, selecting, and validating components and materials from various potential supply sources
Driving risk-based decision making based on deep technical and historical knowledge
Identifying and monitoring key product performance measures and driving improvement
Developing test methods and fixtures to evaluate components, product designs, and materials
Validating test methods and products, and developing visual standards and sampling plans
Designing, executing, and analyzing experiments based on statistical techniques
Documenting work via reports, technology notebooks, and the quality system
Writing procedures and training associates
Gaining an understanding of product processing and manufacturing
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science
5 or more years of direct hands-on experience in a quality, process, product, or manufacturing engineering role post-graduation
Solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals and demonstrated ability to apply them to development, optimization, and troubleshooting activities
Demonstrated experience:
with hands-on product, test method, process or equipment validations
driving support to quality processes (for example, product surveillance, assessing product complaints, non-conformance, CAPA, change management, field events, risk management, audits, complaints, etc.)
making risk-based decisions
Demonstrated ability to:
initiate, prioritize, drive to completion, and concurrently manage multiple products and projects
successfully interact with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, and influence others as well as work independently
build depth in product knowledge across the supply chain
to identify potential failure modes, assess root cause, and improve product performance
to own and drive product risk management
to develop or improve raw material, product or intermediate specifications
apply statistical analysis to trending, improvements, and troubleshooting
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-starting and able to establish priorities in an ambiguous, dynamic environment
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science
Experience in the application of Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement tools
General understanding of quality systems, documentation, and methodologies (for example, GMP, ISO 9001, APQP, House of Quality, etc.)
Experience transitioning new products to manufacturing
Proficient in basic and intermediate statistical concepts (DoE, SPC, Sample Plans, etc.)
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) training
Experience coaching or mentoring other technical team members
