Associate Software QA Specialist

Responsibilities/Duties

Contributes to the quality assurance process for all of Berkshire's commercial web based applications including, but not limited to: Submitting and reviewing tickets for identified defects Verifying submitted fixes have resolved the identified defect in development, test and production environments Developing test steps and designing test data for testing and verifying the assigned tickets Performing other software testing tasks on new and updated releases of Berkshire's commercial web based applications in order to ensure quality and secure releases to clients. Monitoring quality assurance levels and metrics to ensure compliance with Berkshire's established standards. Supports internal and external clients of Berkshire's proprietary commercial software applications via telephone and e-mail, providing technical assistance and product knowledge as necessary. Provides on-call support during extended business hours

Required Skills

Thorough knowledge of general computer operation required. Thorough knowledge of software testing principles and methods required. Thorough knowledge of the Windows platform, preferably both desktop and server based operating systems required. Working knowledge of using and administering applications over the web required. Strong knowledge of various web browsers, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome required. Working knowledge of browser dev tools preferred. Working knowledge of database management systems strongly preferred. Working knowledge of Javascript, CSS and other browser based technologies preferred Strong customer service skills required Strong analytical and problem- solving skills required. Must be self-motivated, task, detail and deadline oriented. Ability to communicate with tact and discretion required.

Required Education

Minimum 2 years coursework towards a Bachelor's degree in an information technology related field required.
