Defining and modifying attributes and values
Defining and modifying attributes and values
Attributes are used to categorize tests, so that you can reference them as a
group. Attributes can also be incorporated into queries, which allow you to
mark tests that match the query's criteria. Marked tests can be run as a group.
Predefined attributes
QA Organizer ships with three predefined attributes.
What you can do
You can define up to 254 attributes. You can also rename the predefined
attributes.
Naming rules
Here are the rules for naming attributes:
·
Attribute names can be up to 11 characters long
·
Attribute and value names are not case sensitive
Attributes reside in the
initialization file
Attributes and values as well as queries are stored by default in testplan.ini
(the initialization file is specified in the Data File for Attributes and Queries
field in the General Options dialog). The testplan.ini file is located in the
SilkTest installation directory
Make sure that all the QA engineers in your group use the same initialization
file.
How to define
attributes and their
values
